Mission

The Community Action Commission (CAC) is dedicated to fostering self-reliance in individuals, families, and communities. Since 1965, CAC has focused on helping low-income residents overcome poverty, as well as addressing poverty’s causes and consequences.

We are a private organization, founded in 1965, administering many federal, state and locally funded programs. These programs target areas such as housing, utility assistance, education, health, nutrition, youth employment programs, and transportation. It is our goal to alleviate the conditions of poverty in our county.
